What will I gain from joining
the STLA?
An STLA membership provides
you with many valuable benefits. Take a look at just some of them:
- Legal Education - Conferences & Teleseminars
- STLA has become known for staging conferences and telephone seminars of
the highest caliber. Our members get the opportunity to hear from local
and national experts on a variety of topics. Some recent presenters have
included Mr. Edward Greenspan, Q.C., Mr. John Rosen and Justice Bastarache
of the Supreme Court of Canada. Our presenters have shared their insights
on all aspects of litigation: from pleadings to closing arguments and everything
in between and beyond, including appellate advocacy. STLA is a pre-approved
CDP provider and our programs are ascribed credit hours by the Law Society
of Saskatchewan. Upcoming programs are listed under our Events tab.
- The Saskatchewan Advocate
- Our quarterly publication addresses new case law and trends in the law,
practice tips and topics of general interest to all litigation lawyers.
The publication includes articles by authors in our own ranks and others
including members of the bench, law professors, accountants, engineers,
and health care professionals.
- Legal Connections
- Our members include some of the Provinces most respected litigation
lawyers. Networking with other STLA members provides an excellent opportunity
to gain insight and advice on legal issues.

our members with a confidential forum to seek guidance and assistance from
some of our more experienced members. This program is aimed at insuring
that the public continues to receive quality legal services and to support
and encourage STLA lawyer members. It is operated through the STLA office
of the Executive Director during regular business hours.
