CPD Requirements

All lawyers practicing (active members) within the province of Saskatchewan must obtain mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) educational hours to practice law, a regulation of the Law Society of Saskatchewan inplemented January 1, 2010.

The STLA was one of the first legal organisations to become pre-approved to deliver accredited education to its members and non-members. Within 2 weeks of the implementation of the CPD Policy, the STLA hosted a full day program on ethics, also a mandatory requirement. In October 2011, the STLA held 2 comprehensive full day programs on the changes to the Court of Queen's Bench Rules, due to come into force July, 2013.

The STLA will continue to review its programs and services to meet our members and non-members requirements to improve their practice of law and to better serve their clients.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please email Karen Roden, STLA Executive Director.
